The Life Portraits - A Work in Progress
Hi friends! I’ve started a new drawing that I hope will turn into a series. I’ve called it “Life” and I’m sure you can see why. I’ll flush out a narrative about them over time too.
I’ve pivoted back to my first artistic love, pencil, for this. There is NOTHING like my first love, I tell you what. I can FALL INTO this piece when I’m working on it and I cannot begin to tell you how many hours have gone into drawing number one here. A LOT.
There’s a meditative quality about working on this. It’s very therapeutic for me. I get to kind of zone out and give my brain some quiet time. My fellow pencil artists can probably relate!
I have A LOT of exciting new things on the horizon too that are art-adjacent and I cannot WAIT to tell you about them. I’m tentatively eyeballing my birthday (Aug 1) as the date where I’ll share all, so, make a note!
